A letter opener is one of those bygone era items that people don’t think they need any more (letters? Who mails letters in this day and age?)
But I still get plenty of “stuff” in envelopes in the mail every day. I recycle everything I can, but I still need to open it and blank out my name and address from would be ID thieves and opportunists.
Rather than risk paper cuts, this letter opener does the trick in one smooth move. Ergonomic, easy to hold, does that job without any risk of cuts or injury to myself.
The “blade” edge and tip have also come in handy to open battery compartments on electronics that have harder to open doors and seals. Doesn’t damage the letter opener but gives me the leverage needed to get in without a ton of fighting, swearing, and nail breakage.
