Chasen White Bamboo Handmade Traditional Japanese Matcha Whisk

¥12,100

Experience the artistry and tradition of Japanese tea ceremonies with the Chasen White Bamboo Handmade Traditional Japanese Matcha Whisk. This high-quality tea whisk is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans using traditional techniques, ensuring an exceptional matcha experience.

Each whisk is unique, made from natural white bamboo, offering a distinct appearance and superior functionality. Enhance your matcha preparation ritual with this exquisite, authentic Japanese tea whisk.

Preparation:

  • Before each use, soak the whisk's tines in warm water for a few minutes. This helps to soften the bamboo, preventing breakage and making the whisk more flexible.

Whisking Matcha:

  • Place 1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a matcha bowl (chawan).
  • Add a small amount of hot water (about 70-80°C or 158-176°F) to the bowl, just enough to cover the powder.
  • Hold the whisk with one hand and the bowl with the other.
  • Use a gentle wrist motion to whisk the matcha in a "W" or "M" shape, back and forth, until the matcha is frothy and well-mixed.
  • Add more hot water to your desired consistency and continue whisking until the matcha is smooth and frothy.
  • After each use, rinse the whisk under warm running water to remove any matcha residue.
  • Gently shake off excess water and carefully pat the whisk dry with a clean cloth.
  • Avoid using soap or detergents, as they can damage the bamboo.
  • Place the whisk on a whisk holder (chasen naoshi) to help maintain its shape and allow it to air dry naturally.
  • Ensure the whisk is completely dry before storing it to prevent mold growth.
  • Store the whisk in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
