I agree with the previous reviewer. I did not notice the plastic casing. I would have liked this nail clipper without the plastic casing as well, because removing the nail clippings is a bit difficult, but this nail clipper includes a nail filer on the bottom of the plastic casing if that something you also need. However, it is a very sharp nail clipper; it makes such clean cuts, and I am impressed. I do not regret the purchase.

it is fine, but i did not realize it had the large black plastic housing, I could not tell that from the photo. i would prefer a nail clipper without the plastic housing.
