Horiuchi is an edible oil production company based in Kumamoto, Japan. With over 70 years of history, they're dedicated to making healthy, delicious and nutritious oils for cooking.
Their golden sesame oil is made by cold-pressing whole golden sesame seeds without any additional heat or chemicals. Golden sesame seeds called “kin-goma” in Japanese are the most highly praised in the market because they have a rich nutty aroma and flavor.
The golden sesame oil is made by following a family recipe and using old-fashioned pressing methods, which Horiuchi aims to protect. They don't use solvents to extract their oils, so you can rest assured that you'll be experiencing the natural flavors and nutrients of the sesame seed without added chemicals.
Their process is simple, but takes a lot of effort. Sesame seeds are carefully roasted in a large pot, then squeezed in a press to extract the oil. The unrefined oil is washed with warm water, then filtered drop by drop with the help of a fine mesh to remove impurities. Finally, it's bottled and sold.
Horiuchi recommends using their golden sesame oil as a dressing for salads or seasoning for stir-fry dishes and other cookings.
