House Mayu Black Garlic Oil is a Japanese seasoning used with dishes like ramen, fried rice, and fried chicken. A rich, sweet tasting garlic oil, especially delicious with tonkotsu ramen. This oil is produced by House Foods, one of Japan's leading food manufacturers, famous for their curries, seasonings, and spices.
The oil is made by slowly frying garlic cloves until they are blackened to create a smoky, earthy flavor when added to ramen broth. This kind of oil is also used in Kumamoto ramen. Kumamoto ramen is different from Hakata ramen because the noodles are slightly thicker, and the broth uses cooked garlic instead of raw garlic.

Surpassed my expectations! The bottle looks so small that you might think you'd have to use half of it for one serving, but no! This is one of those bottles that pumps out oil in tiny single drops, but a few drops deliver some seriously strong garlic flavor. I first tried it on a bowl of plain steamed rice and was amazed by the strength and quality. Minor nitpick, some black, garlic oils (not to be confused with black garlic, oil) have a stronger just-shy-of-burnt flavor. This one is pretty mild on that end with more of a roasted flavor, just in case you were really looking for that char taste.

Very tasty product. I really like the smokey flavor and the fact that it only takes a few drops to flavor any item. I find that mixing a few drops with soy sauce has a subtle effect on the flavor. Greatly adds to Ramen and rice dishes. Thanks for a great product.
