This handcrafted Japanese tetsubin kettle from Iwachu is a stylish and modern take on a traditional piece of Japanese ironware. Handcrafted by skilled artisans in the tradition of Nambu Tekki, yet with a few styling changes to make it perfectly at home in a chic, modern house.
This type of kettle is commonly used for boiling and serving hot water for making tea. It is said that water boiled in a tetsubin has a softer taste than other boiled water. In addition, since it’s cast iron, the water you drink will be enriched with iron.
This large capacity kettle can hold up to 1.3L of water, and is compatible with gas, direct flame, and induction (IH) heat sources, making it a very versatile kettle.
- Brown lid contrasts against the black iron, giving it accents of style.
- Smooth surface atypical for tetsubin makes this piece look right at home in a modern house.
- Enrich your water with iron every time you boil it.
- Huge 1.3L capacity, more than most tetsubin on the market.
- Handmade by skilled artisans in the tradition of Nambu Tekki.
When using, fill the water in the kettle to about 80% of its maximum capacity. Heating at full capacity could cause overflowing.
Because this is an iron product, moisture may cause rust. If you wish to avoid corrosion, do not leave water in and dry with residual heat after use. If moisture still remains, remove the lid and heat for about 30 seconds.
The iron kettle is a product exclusively for boiling water, refrain from boiling other liquids with it.
