Have you ever seen a dried Japanese food that looks like a doughnut? It is one of the variations of fu (Japanese gluten meat) called kuruma fu.
Fu is Japanese wheat gluten that is similar to seitan. It has an abundance of protein and is made from wheat and gluten only, so it is a vegan-friendly food.
This product has more volume than its conventional kuruma fu counterparts. As a result, it has greater volume, has a meatier texture, and can absorb more soup and dashi.
Miyamura's fu gluten meat is additive-free and can be stored for 540 days.
It is said that fu includes a rich amount of proline: an amino acid that helps generate collagen.
