Otokoume (literally translates as "masculine/manly plum") series is Nobel's flagship product line. This candy is for those who love umeboshi and sour taste.
Despite this product is a soft candy, it has pretty tough texture! But if you lick the candy for a while, it gets softer. The brownish powder coated on the candy is a sour umeboshi powder. Initially this candy is quite sour, and when the powders are all melted the taste gradually turns sweet.
Trivia: the sour faced macho umeboshi guys printed on the package are the mascots of Otokoume brand, which symbolize the products' sourness and hardness.
