The Tomoe Hokkaido Red Miso Paste is a rich and flavorful miso paste that is made with soybeans and rice from Hokkaido, a region famous for its high quality produce. Compared to white miso, red miso has more soy and is typically fermented longer, which gives it a much stronger, richer flavor full of umami.
Its ingredients are simply non-GMO soybeans, rice, and salt. This means that this miso paste is not only gluten-free, but also vegan-friendly.
On top of that, this product includes neither additives nor alcohol, so you do not need to be concerned about anything impacting its original and natural flavor.
Simple mix 2-3 tablespoons of miso paste with 3-4 cups of dashi, depending on how strong you like your soup. First, bring the dashi to a simmer, then mix the miso with a small amount of the dashi until smooth, before adding back to the pot. Add any fillings you like, such as tofu or green onions.
