Kabusecha tea is a premium, mild Japanese green tea. It is produced by protecting young tea leaves from the harsh sun, by covering the plants with porous sheets.
This process makes kabusecha one of Japan's three most premium teas, alongside gyokuro and matcha. Unlike similar premium teas, particularly gyokuro tea, kabusecha doesn't require cooling, thus you can enjoy its mellow sweetness even while hot.
Kabusecha finds a perfect balance between the flavors of sencha and gyokuro, being neither too sweet nor too bitter. It's a mild tea that is perfect for those just getting started with Japanese green tea.
Heat teabags in 80-degree C water for around 30 seconds. Steep for longer if you'd prefer a stronger flavor.
