Normally, a sushi oke (wooden bowl for cooking sushi rice) does not have a lid because it is originally a tool to cook the rice, rather than preserve it. However, when temporarily storing the rice in the bowl, the lid will be useful.
This wooden lid is an option for Umezawa Mokuzai’s wooden hangiri bowl. If you are considering a new sushi bowl, please also consider this product.
Place this lid on to prevent the cooked rice from drying.
By using the lid, you can make the barrel look more attractive so that it allows people to guess what is inside it, just like the dome-shaped, stainless steel food covers you see at hotels and restaurants.
After use, wash it with a neutral detergent, and dry thoroughly when storing.
