Sugiura Hon Mirin 3 Years Aged Traditional Sweet Rice Seasoning 500ml

¥4,100

Mirin is a traditional Japanese seasoning that has been used since the Edo period. This particular mirin, which is made in the Mikawa region of Aichi prefecture, has been popular amongst Japanese people throughout the country for almost 100 years.

It is one of the most common seasonings used in Japanese cuisine and Hon Mirin, or real mirin has an irreplaceable sweetness and rice aroma that cannot be found in other seasonings. Lovers of Japanese cuisine should not ignore this product!

This mirin has undergone a long and traditional brewing process in which it is aged for 3 years inside of a barrel before being bottled and sold to consumers. This long and tedious process of handmaking the mirin has allowed it to absorb the maximum umami flavor from the rice used in its creation.

This special Hon Mirin is additive free, and is made of only natural ingredients that come from Mikawa in Aichi prefecture. Mikawa is one of the most ideal places for brewing mirin because it has the ideal climate and water quality for making mirin.

Authentic mirin made with only carefully selected glutinous rice and rice malt from Aichi Prefecture, and fragrant sake lees shochu. It has an amber color and is characterized by a refreshing maple syrup-like sweetness. It can be used not only for Japanese food, but also for seasoning Western and Chinese food.

Additionally, this Hon Mirin has been aged for three years, giving it an irreplacable flavor that cannot be found in other Japanese Hon Mirin. The long brewing process has given this Hon Mirin a unique umami and rich flavor. Its beautiful dark, amber color will also enhance the flavor and color of your dishes.

Unlike most mirin, this Hon Mirin has a sweet, smooth, and balanced flavor that is suitable for drinking! Try mixing it with shochu and then diluting it as much as you like for a unique yet traditional Japanese alcoholic beverage.

This Hon Mirin is also a versatile seasoning that works wonderfully in stir fries, stocks, broths, soups, stews, braises, and of course sauces and glazes. Adding this mirin to any kind of Japanese, Chinese, or even Western dish to enhance its flavor.

Use it as a natural sweetener instead of sugar or honey if you wish by boiling it down in a sauce pan and then glazing it over anything you wish.
